Cleaning stubborn stains should generally be left to a professional. For maintenence, vacuum regularly with a light vacuum cleaner on low suction power, and then brush with a soft brush in the direction of the fabric grain. If you live in a dry climate or home with central heating, wipe upholstery with a damp but not too wet pad from time to time. Pleating may form on seat or back cushions with loose covers. To prevent wrinkling or loss of shape, furniture fitted with loose back and seat cushions must be shaken regularly. Fabrics are sensitive to sharp objects, toys, pet nails, etc. Stain removal is the work of specialised companies, but you can remove large dirt, for example food scraps, with a spoon or the back of a knife. Avoid using sharp objects or finger nails. Liquids are best removed with an absorbent cloth, but dab only, and do not rub.Clean the upholstery with lukewarm water (approx. 30�C) with a ph-neutral shampoo or fabric softener. Never clean with a household cleaner, because the acids damage the fibres. To avoid water rings, don't wet the stain too much, and work from the edge to the centre to contain the stain and avoid creating circles. After removing the stains, the entire upholstery, from seam to seam, should be treated with a damp cloth to avoid any circles in the fabric. Then, with a dry cloth, remove the applied detergent and brush the fabric very gently. After drying, the fabric can be vacuumed with a vacuum cleaner
and brushed again with a soft brush.
