Regularly clean leather with a soft brush or cloth, and clean with a specialised leather conditioner every three to six months. The finished product may have an oil or lacquer coat, which adds to the depth and clarity of the finish. To clean oil or lacquered finishes, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one litre of water. Dip a soft cloth into the liquid, wring the cloth, and then use it to wipe with the grain. Use another clean, soft, dry cloth to wipe up any excess liquid to make sure the surface is completely dry.
