Marble exudes an element of style and luxury when used as decor and may need special care to preserve its look over time. Always clean it with fresh warm water, wiping it dry immediately with a clean cloth. Spills can penetrate marble and leave stains and must be cleaned as they occur. Do not use detergents, acids, spirits or any chemical products to clean it and avoid placing hot objects directly on it for long. Pine wood is a soft wood with beautiful natural irregularities that enhance its overall uniqueness. It is a wood that continues to breathe, and so, must be kept away from direct sunlight or sudden temperature changes. Wipe it regularly with a soft damp cloth, but do not use soap or detergents. An occasional re-treating of the surface with wax will help preserve its character.
