When you invest in a sofa or sofa set, you’ll want to be sure your furniture pieces will last you a long time. Given that sofas will see a lot of use, it’s smart to buy accompanying sofa slipcovers. This way, they can easily be removed and washed, or even replaced if there’s been too much wear and tear or stain damage over time.

Chair slipcovers are essentially ‘clothes’ for your furniture to be dressed in, so consider fabric and fit carefully – just as you do when choosing your clothing or bed sheets. While they can’t transform an old, sagging couch completely, they can certainly be switched to spruce up a space or make a seasonal change.

So, what colour is best? Sticking to white slip covers is always wise. A classic, all-white colour scheme will forever stay in fashion. All white also lends itself to various décor aesthetics, from a beachy Greek vibe or Scandinavian minimalism to farmhouse chic or classic elegance. Grey, meanwhile, is another neutral that works well in modern, tribal, African or Moroccan décor themes. If you’re a fan of change, you may want to invest in two colours – a lighter one for high summer; and a darker one for the cooler months.

If your couch is covered in 100% quality linen, don’t skimp on the quality of covers or upholstery for your other luxury chairs. Linen is durable; it can easily be washed in the washing machine; and it ages better than a lot of other upholstery fabrics do.
