Marina Home shares their do’s and dont’s to help you share who you are through your interior
Designing a home that’s not just comfortable and gorgeous but also reflects your personality can feel intimidating. But when you know how to pair modern luxury furniture the right way, the design process can actually be incredibly satisfying — and even fun! Marina Home shares their do’s and dont’s to help you design a home that truly represents who you are.

Pair glass side tables with a colourful luxury sofa, like our Adena sofa, and multi-coloured rugs, like our Poeme rug. Wooden coffee tables, vibrant wall art,and planters housing lush fresh or faux plants complete the look.
PLAY WITH TEXTURES
Pairing polished and rough textures creates interest, elevating the colour palette you choose. Place smooth, look-at-me glass side tables — like our Eblan or Nebula side tables — alongside richly textured lounge seating. Our yellow studded velvet luxury sofa, the Adena sofa, is a great choice but our deep blue Estasi chaise lounge , Mannheim sectional sofa , or Monteria chaise lounge chair will also work beautifully.

Eclectic carpet flooring or rugs, like our multi-coloured Poeme , Euclid , or Mucho rugs, boast complementary tones and patterns that lift the overall look. Sleek wooden coffee tables — we adore our Arturo and Venice coffee tables — ensure the aesthetic ties together.
CREATE AND EYE-CATCHING FOCUS
While getting playful with colour and texture can be fun, you want to make sure the final look is coordinated. A feature wall housing your favourite wall art is a great way to do this, although you can also bring in a collection of indoor plantersartificial flowers , decor flowers, object art, or wall clocks.

We love the idea of our Roger Moore and Brigitte Bardot wall art being paired in a home or office that pays homage to old-world Hollywood glamour with a twist.

Turn up the character volume in your dining room with a combination of leather and wood furniture. Our Airloft dining table and bench, and our Sway dining chairs, work wonderfully together. Bold wall art, a retro standing clock, and a high-end chandelier floor lamp complete the look perfectly

REMEMBER, LAYOUT MATTERS

When designing an eclectic interior, it's easy to get obsessed with what colours, textures, and patterns you’d like to use to tie your ideal look together. But don’t underestimate the importance of luxury furniture placement.

Layout is one of the most important aspects of room design, even more so than fabrics and colours. How you arrange your living room furniture, for example taking into account the size and shape of our Onorato sectional sofa paired with a round coffee table (we adore our Bangor coffee table if you’re looking for one), determines how comfortable your space is, and what the overall atmosphere feels like.

And the same goes for your bedroom. Our Pacey designer wooden bed and Hetek side tables are gorgeous, but taking their size, shape and colours into account is crucial to the end result.

Decide where your existing luxury furniture will go before you start buying more. That will help you determine whether or not certain special furniture, for example your favourite   vintage  dresser, leather armchair, or designer   floor lamp  will fit the space from both a practical and aesthetic perspective.

LESS IS MORE

When it comes to creating a room bursting with character, we don't suggest putting your entire exclusive furniture collection on show. Doing this might overwhelm the senses, diluting your personality rather than showing it off.

Instead, mix things up by editing to showcase a few of your favourite items, and rotate furniture for seasonality or variety. This will help you ensure that you’re giving your favourites the spotlight they deserve.

Blue is this interior’s hero, with our plush Estasi seater with chaise lounge, dual-toned Fletcher Club chair, and scalloped wallpaper helping to create a bold look that’s also laid back. Pops of gold add luxurious character.

GO FOR ONE HUE THAT TIES THE LOOK TOGETHER

Select a hue that serves as the unifying factor throughout your interior. Colour is a great way to balance a look, pulling your overall aesthetic together.

Whether your colour is emerald green, off-white, or deep blue, keep bringing it back into the design in different ways. You can do that through floor cushions, sofa cushions, cushion covers  , pillow covers , bedding , accessories, or even big furniture like a chaise lounge chair, creating an interior design that’s polished.

TIP: PERSONALITY DOESN'T MEAN "MIX-AND-MATCH"

There’s nothing random about an eclectic room designed well. And there’s a fine line between balanced and elegant or overwhelmingly too much. To avoid your interior feeling random, set a limit on the number of contrasting styles in one room and then tie them together using colour and texture.

For example, while lounge seating like our scallop-backed Florian lounge chair is unique in colour and shape, it can still work alongside the strikingly different Abrath lounge chair because they both share the colour green.
